It's a winter wonderland to me.... love the cool colours and texture!! I too agree that you should keep it!

NO ! Definitely not a waste basket.  This is beautiful in of itself - so peaceful and serene - like the surface of the Earth from a great distance. It is a Keeper in my book . Just the way it is . Sometimes less IS more.

It is the start of something great!  Leave it for a while, walk away.  I look forward to seeing it again in the future, for surely I will.

These are what I call backgrounds (btw.... it is a beautiful one!) Hang it uo in your studio and over time it will 'talk' to you.....it's a process...some more than others :D)

Love the crystal like textures.  It's interesting to share how we each deal with something we feel is a mess.  My process is to let it sit and work on other things until a new idea strikes me.  This definitely has potential which is not far from where you have it, I'm partial to the cooler softer colors, perhaps scraping back the grayish brown and layering in the pinks or blues or purples in will bring the randomness but harmony you may be seeking with it.  Definitely not for file #13... Good luck, Thanks for sharing!

Mess?? Shelly.. this is nothing but a start... i love this texture..the colours.. i agree with Mari,Anna and Vera..

let it rest for a bit, listen to your inner voice..you do that all the time, your paintings show you do

and then perhaps do someting new.. but certainly not the waste basket.. XX

To me it looks like a satellite picture of the Earth to be honest and you can use it as a follow up to finish it at the glance !.... I don't think it's a mess , sometimes your creation can bring you to places where you have to look around and feel !That's my opinion and experience !

I think you should sit comfortably in front of the picture you look closely at its center, then close your eyes and speak to your inner voice, the center of who I amas you can see his duschu what color, shape ... and just start drawing the first thing that comes to mind .

I agree with Vera 100%! This is anything, but mess! I really like the fine textures and the beautiful colors, especially at the right side.
My advice: let it rest a bit, leave it , as it is now and take it again, after some time (some days?), look at it with fresh eyes and let you lead from your instincts: you'll know what to do with it. Do not force anything, though.
It is already a nice piece to look at it! :) Mari
