This will be also a long run; I was working out this image in my mind since years. Now took the deep breath and started: first I made a pencil sketch, then I build up the whole image from my mind into a digital sketch, THEN I got further, fresh ideas, that you'll see at the first uploads. I'm still in the middle of nowhere; these are the most difficult phases for me. The first layer show only chaos and I'm always uncertain, if I would be able to finish it...but then again a deep breath and the journey continues.
Now I show you the first steps:
this was the first pencil sketch and I was very unsatisfied with my drawing...
this is the digital sketch, still with that awful drawing, but least I got an idea about the colors...
tried to make a better sketch, but still something was missing...
this is the final correction of my sketch: finally found the right pose of the head; now time to transfer all on the Ampersand board:
this was my transfer, with lot of correction, but I knew: MPO will cover all...
now the program doesn't allow me to continue, so I'll continue as a comment, as usual...

all those stunning details.  everytime i look at paintings like this one from you i'm in awe..  overhere we would say, it's monnikenwerk...( a job for monks )lol..  The end result is beautifull and realy shows what the title stands for.  I love the look on the woman's face,  every mother knows the feeling you show us here.

Maria, it is so beautiful, so very wel done.  Congratulations with your work and with the result.  I really love the face, she seems really dreaming of the baby. Also the loom and the cradle are very nicely done. And the brilliant light, I like it very much .... Maria you can be proud of yourself and especially stay in believing you can do it! lots of love from Nadine

Well, the great day has arrived: I'M DONE!
I show you here first 3 close-ups, then the final version. I'm happy with it, although I know: it could be even better, but I feel, even more I correct from now on, even more chance , that I ruin it. So here we go:
and here is the final version! I couldn't make a better photo, sorry!
Antonin, thank you for your support and attention all the way long, it helped me a lot. Nadine, thank you, too! :)

Thank you Antonin, for your encouragement! Today I feel much better: I haven't stopped, but made the correction on her face, that I missed. Then overworked the background again. Tomorrow I'll heat it very carefully, then we'll see, maybe it will be done. Fingers crossed...when it is really done, I'll try to shoot a better photo and also some close-ups. Anyway, I enjoyed this journey a lot :) Mari

Hard to judge as you say that you've lost something on her face, it may take an up close pic , but overall I like it very much especially very dramatic and dynamic bottom where it comes from. Also I have to mention how well you made that mutual appearance loom vs the figure , some bond can be felt and a solid base as well.

Thank you, dear Nadine! I feel better today, because I know what and how to correct...I feel the same always , what you wrote, but this time I can't say: it is done yet...:) Mari

Dear Mary, I do not know if this applies to everyone but me is sure that when I'm satisfied with a job, yet again always get my doubts later whether it is well done. Usually I always see something that could better afterwards, but I wonder if this is not for everyone? Except with him that master can call ... But Maria your work is very beautiful, really valuable also the theme is so special, I want to congratulate you now ........... Dear greetings from Nadine xxx

Well, I'l almost there, but not satisfied...I feel I lost something, that it was better at the beginning (especially at her face). Now I show you the last version first before heating, then after heating and a close-up.
I think I have to let it rest a while, then continue...
