So no more time to hesitate, after I prepared my small Ampersand board for encaustic, and made a pencil sketch, using my digital montage, based on a photo about my door, that I really painted in Hungary...
Here are the first photos about the new journey:
after mixing a pretty large amount of the Paste with oil color (the background color of the sky, I took the first strokes; the first layer all around.I was glad, because the paste worked really easy and I guessed: I mixed enough for the first, least two layers...pretty rustic, eh...but I was happy...hey these are just the first steps of a baby, who never used palette knives...
so looked out (above), after the first blowing with the hot air gun (I still don't have a torch)...
then I mixed a bit other blue-tone and made the second layer, but I can't continue now (the program allowed only those photos above), so I post it now and continue later...

Thank you, Liesbeth! Yes, I put a layer of a pure paste around the door, and also on the bottom of the door...first I had some difficulties again, because after the first heating it became still a bit sticky and lost that nice, shiny surface, that was before...but after the second heating (I was waiting a day to let it dry) now everything is OK, and I got that even, flat surface, that I wanted. The difficulties happened, because the two medium: the former master paste, with the orange turpentine and the new one were arguing at the beginning, so I had to be very careful, how I use the torch...learning process...:) Mari

Looks great Mari, you have  again reason to be proud of yourself. You took the challenge, came across some difficulties but found your way in this new product and the result is beautifull.

Did you put on a layer of pure paste?

Well, today I can declare: the Door of the Dreams is DONE! I show you the final result and a close-up to see more the textures, a photo from the side to see how the Ampersand cradle-board looks like (with my treasure: the Micro-torch) and its temporary place on the wall:

Thank you for your patience and kind attention! LONG LIVE the MASTER PASTE ORIGINAL!!! :) Mari

Thank you, Antonin! What about my idea to cover it with a pure layer of paste? I'm waiting it to dry, because a bit still sticky, after the first try to heat it...

Thank you Vera! You made me happy to mention that my sky and clouds look better than the original, because at the at the "original" digital sketch the sky was computer-generated and I painted my sky here, always looking out of my window...thanks again, you kind attention! Now I made first on the bottom part a layer of pure Paste, waiting how it works, then I'll cover the whole painting with it...fingers crossed...:) Mari
