Needed a bit of a challenge. Watched a traditional painter and used the info to do something similar with wax. Still leaves plenty of room for improvement but happy with the result. Now i need to find out how to create waves...Hotplate; A3

We live in an age where stores are heaving difficulties to keep going and in many places we find empty buildings because of it. In our community two women decided to start Pop Up Galeries to bring these empty spaces more into view.

Two editions are completed and one building is sold. I was asked to…

When i looked at the first encaustic creation somewhere on the web i had no idea what it was and that it would become such a huge and important part of my life.  At that time i also had no idea my world was about to fall into pieces but it did.  Lucky for me that one image once seen had already showed me the fun of creating with wax. Not much later it would also lead me to a place within that would help me to let  very old and deep hidden pains emerge and heal.

When i couldn't stop…

Liesbeth thanks, with michaels' suggestion to use low tack masking tape to create a register,i think i'll make some decent headway.  can't wait for tomorrow to try it.

LIESBETH, I DID THAT ON YESTERDAY AND I'VE BEEN EXPERIMENTING ALL TODAY WITH THE TECHNIQUE, TRYING TO OVERPRINT, USING MIXED MEDIA, THEY ALL SEEM TO WORK QUITE WELL,NOW COMES PRACTICE, THE HARD PART IS FIGURING OUT A REGISTER SO THAT YOU CAN GO BACK INTO THE PRINT AND ADD TO IT.  I KNOW THERE IS A BOX WITH LIGHT BULBS AND ANONDIZED ALUMINUM PLATES,SEEMS AVERY EXPENSIVE WAY TO CREATE PRINTS

lisbeth, i didn't think of it as a negative tsatement, but as a representation of his life, as all life consists of  positives and nergatives, this was a tribute to his entire life, not just the positive side, at least that was my thought. '
